Three Blind Mice

Many are familiar with the nursery rhyme Three Blind Mice. This leads many to believe that mice are actually blind, which is not accurate. These rodents do not have the best eyesight but are still able to see about 2 feet away. While they are near sided animals they can detect motion about 45 feet away allowing them to escape from predators and avoid dangerous encounters. These animals also have a keen sense of hearing and smell which help account for their poor eyesight.
