When searching for shelter voles will burrow underground, creating a series of tunnels in which they will live. These tunnels not only provide shelter from the elements but also a place to store food and  protection from predators. Voles have small feet, and forefeet with only four toes. They use these feet to dig golf-ball sized holes in the soil, mulch, or walls as entrances to the tunnels. These holes are most visible in early spring, when the snow has just melted. If you see these holes in your yard you may have a vole problem. If so, call Guardian Wildlife Services! We will help remove the voles from your property safely.
